My name is Lesego Maponyane; I am currently working on a contract as a Taekwondo head coach at the Korean Cultural Center of the Korean Embassy. My responsibility includes introducing Taekwondo to South Africans as Taekwondo is a Korean martial which is part of their cultural art. I am currently holding a position as an athlete Representative and a National Coordinator of the South African Taekwondo Federation (SATF).



I was also in a sub-contract with FNB Care teaching women self-defense lessons to fight against Gender Base Violence in South Africa. My responsibility includes teaching women the basic self-defense which will be very helpful for most of them in the future as martial art plays a vital role in self-defense.



I joined Taekwondo at the age of 11 years. I was selected as a Taekwondo national player at the age of 17 years were I got the opportunity to study at TuksSport High School which played a vital role in my career as a sports men.
